On February 17, February 20, and March 17, Princeton schools will be closed. Don’t worry – we’ve got your family covered! The Arts Council of Princeton is pleased to offer one-day mini-camps for upcoming school closings for all Princeton Public Schools. Each mini-camp runs from 9am-3:30pm and features mixed media visual arts options for ages 5-10 and digital arts options for ages 10-13. Read more about the ACP’s unique opportunities for art enrichment on days off from school:
A Heart for Art [ages 5-10]: Live life to its fullest! Love with your whole heart! Express yourself through creating art! Campers will show and feel the love in the air as they create fun-loving projects.
The Pixel Artist [ages 10-13]: What began as the staple of the video game revolution is now back and more popular than ever! Yet, what seems like simple blocky squares is actually a complicated and detailed art style. Join us for this fun camp where campers will learn how to work with nothing, but a pixel art brush and craft their very own pixelated art piece.
Legendary Leaders [ages 5-10]: Washington, Lincoln, and more! Campers will learn about inspirational leaders and create individual artwork utilizing a broad range of mixed media under the guidance of ACP´s professional artist educators.
Digital Art Jam [ages 10-13]: Join in on this one day digital camp where students will be given three random words and be challenged to integrate them into an (often wacky) art piece. This camp is a great way to challenge any artist´s creativity while also learning the endless possibilities of the digital art platform.
Art of Luck [ages 5-10]: Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Come join us as we express how lucky we are to be creating art. Take a look at the Irish heritage and celebrate this holiday with Celtic knots, four leaf clovers, etc. Campers will work on Irish inspired mixed media projects.
Special Feature! Campers who register before 5pm on Monday, March 6, will be eligible for a complimentary ticket to “Meet the Music: Albert & Wolfgang” on Saturday March 11th. Click here for more info.
1-Day Video Project [ages 10-13]: Through a collaborative atmosphere, students will learn about stop motion, light painting, visual illusions and more! Each camper will add a piece of their vision to the final product, as they take turns filming, building, directing, and acting for the camera. The end result will be a short film showcasing the student’s interpretations of the different techniques and effects covered in this one-day camp.
Some more good news: the Arts Council of Princeton’s Summer Art Camps and Summer Art Studios are now enrolling! We offer ten weeks of art enrichment for ages 5-16 in our state-of-the-art, air-conditioned studios. Learn more here!
