Presented by the Arts Council of Princeton, Art & About is a six-week series of public art-inspired pop-up experiences designed to activate our downtown and provide safe, creative experiences for our community. It’s our mission of building community through the arts in action!

SEPTEMBER 19 | 12-3pm

After a successful run of our Stronger Together mural celebrating the resiliency of our community and beloved small businesses, it’s time for something new! Arts Council artists will be at work transforming the mural space on Village Silver — stop by to see what’s next!

SEPTEMBER 26 | 12-4pm

Stop by Hinds Plaza to watch ACP Executive Director and ceramic artist Adam Welch in action on the potter’s wheel! Adam will be throwing new pieces on the wheel and auctioning off work from his collection. In further celebration of all things clay, the Arts Council has hidden five handmade ceramic pieces around town – from mugs, to bowls, to sculpture. If you find one, it’s yours to keep and you’ll receive a complimentary Family membership to the Arts Council!

OCTOBER 3 | 12-4pm
We’re adding bursts of color and creativity to the streets of Princeton! Find artists working downtown as temporary sidewalk chalk murals come to life.

You’ll see artists 7oveChild, Susan DeConcini, Rashad Malik Davis, Andres Duque, and Cheyenne Setneska creating temporary works of art in real-time while you watch!

Find the artists at work outside the Arts Council of Princeton, Sakrid Coffee Roasters, Hinds Plaza, Palmer Square – Princeton NJ, and the Princeton Garden Theatre. Stop by, snap a pic, and tag us on Instagram at @artscouncilofprinceton! The first person to post a photo of all FIVE murals will receive a complimentary Family Membership to the Arts Council, a $75 value!

OCTOBER 10 | 12-4pm

Grab your easel and pick a spot around town to let the surroundings inspire your next work. Sketch or paint your favorite place to join the Paint Out movement! Passersby can enjoy seeing local artists at work and all paintings created during the Paint Out will be featured in a future exhibition at the Arts Council.

OCTOBER 17 | 12-3pm
Use your voice for Pop Up Poetry! Find us on Hinds Plaza to create your own six word poem to be displayed in a collaborative poetry installation. Then join us for an outdoor edition of Story & Verse, a poetry & spoken word open mic at Pettoranello Gardens, 3-5pm.

OCTOBER 24 | 12-8pm
Join Princeton’s first ever Augmented Reality Art Challenge by downloading the Just a Line app that allows you to draw on top of any location in Princeton! Just point your camera to where you want to draw, and start creating your artwork on your phone.
