ANNE REEVES ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) established the Anne Reeves Artist-in-Residence Program in 2009 to offer artists the opportunity to conceptualize and create new works while providing the community with creative interaction with working artists in all disciplines. Since its inception, ACP Artists-in-Residence have created community wide projects, public art sculptures and murals, theater productions, and more.

This residency is named in honor of Anne Reeves, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Princeton from 1983-2004. Anne currently serves as Founding Director on the ACP Board of Trustees and continues to be a force in the Princeton arts community.

Guidelines

  • The ACP is seeking artists with a strong commitment to experimentation and innovation, arts education, and community involvement in the arts for the Anne Reeves Artist-in-Residence Program. Artists who address social, historical, political, environmental, or other topical themes are also encouraged to apply. The ACP welcomes diversity in age, race, gender, and sexual orientation.
  • Resident artists are expected to provide an educational or community component. This may take the form of a workshop, performance, lecture, open studio, or another creative method of engaging the local community. Artists may request a stipend, travel expenses and a materials or technology allowance. This should be included with your application.
  • Artists who work as a duo/team may apply. Your project description should thoroughly explain your project, goals, and a detailed budget.
  • The ACP does not provide accommodations for out-of-town artists. Each artist-in-residence will receive access to work space, performance and/or gallery space, and the opportunity to interact with the community through workshops, classes, exhibitions, performances, lectures and/or public art projects appropriate to the artist’s particular medium.
