REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED —just drop in and pay at the door ($12/$10 ACP members). View more information or register.

MASS assembly

MASS assembly is an exhibition that presents the work of four New Jersey artists who have taken mass-produced, discarded materials and transformed them into artworks that provide commentary and reflections on our materialistic, consumer-oriented society.

Sculpture

Graves Terrace | Jim Perry’s sculpture is “…animated by its contradictions …stability and movement within the same work.”

Precious Metal Clay: Rings

- $195

*** Pre-Registration required: Friday May 16 at noon deadline ***
Making Rings & Other Round Things
Perfect for those who have completed Intro to PMC, as well as those exploring PMC!
Precious Metal Clay (PMC) feels and reacts like clay, dries like clay, and when fired in a kiln becomes solid fine silver. After an initial refresher/intro to basic techniques, the instructor (a Certified PMC Artisan) will explain how to size rings, create a round form using several different techniques, set a synthetic gem, decorate, texture, fire, patinate, and polish a variety of ring styles. All tools provided for in-class use including kiln firing and tumbler. Each participant will purchase from instructor enough PMC3 clay to create and go home with at least two or three rings, depending upon size and level of intricacy.

The materials fee starts at around $50 (depending upon silver price at that time) and includes12.5 gr PMC, 1 gem, ring sizer, and polishing pad. Basic tools provided for in-class use including ring mandrel/stand. Take-home tool kits ($30), mandrel ($20) and/or additional clay and gems may be purchased from instructor in class separately as requested.
