Textured & Dyed Textiles

- $155

Attention all textured textile fans! Love that wonderful texture of expensive shibori-dyed clothing and scarves? Here’s an exciting silk and cloth dyeing workshop that teaches you how to create permanent glorious texture in your work. In this full day hands-on class you will dye then take your dyed goods to the next level, creating 3 beautifully textured scarves (with pleats, bubbles and more), as well as your own samples, and learn a natural texturing method without expensive equipment or hours of steaming.

Materials fee of $35.00 payable to the instructor.

3D Felted Vessels & Bowls

- $75

Here is a fun way to create a 3 dimensional shape out of wool: in this class students will be felting over an inflatable ball to make a vessel or a bowl. We will explore different ways to manipulate the surface before and after felting. Materials used: dyed, carded wool and silk fibers. Absolutely no knitting is involved and no previous felting experience is necessary. Expect a bit of physical work while making felt.
Materials will be supplied by the instructor at an additional cost of $15 per person. Please bring a plastic container, a bar of soap and 2 old towels to class.
