Ceramics: Transfer W/S

This new workshop combines printmaking and ceramics, introducing the artist to lithography printing on clay. Through hands-on instruction, students will use Cone 6 Stoneware, mason stains, gum Arabic, and imagery to create collaged transfers on clay slabs. Students can choose to make a set of tiles, cubes or combine simple building techniques to create a functional form. Students will have the opportunity to complete two finished pieces/projects that can be picked up after firing. Registration fees include firings and all materials (clay, stains, gum Arabic, printmaking supplies, etc.).

Modern Dye: Morven

Self-expression through fabric dyeing is a wonderful way to explore individual creativity while having fun and creating beautiful results. Learn the ancient arts of hand-dyeing and Shibori, hands-on, in ACP’s powerful 1-day indoor/outdoor workshop in a fabulous spring setting at Morven. Create three stunning or edgy scarves, learn dyeing methods for cotton, silk and rayon, pleating, wrapping, texture and surface design. Develop a skill base for continuing this expressive and creative process at home. No prior experience needed. What you create will amaze you! A material fee of $35 is payable to the instructor. Bring a lunch.

Felted Small Things

Join us for this introductory felting workshop and explore various techniques to make simple beads, thin felted strings, bracelets of different dimensions and colorful felted flowers. Participants are invited to bring their own tiny glass beads to embellish these unique masterpieces. Students will work with various breeds of natural colored wool, as well as dyed and carded merino. A materials fee payable directly to the instructor is just $5/person.
