This program delivers arts education to approximately 130 children of low-income families within Princeton. Working in partnership with the Princeton Nursery School (which provides subsidized Pre-K education for neighborhood children) and Princeton Young Achievers (an after-school enrichment program located in public housing areas in town), ArtReach was designed to reach the under-served students in what is otherwise a wealthy and well-served community of children. Through the ACP’s efforts, children are offered visual arts education, with additional programs presented in a variety of artistic disciplines, such as drama, dance, film and music. The goal is to promote artistic development and its attendant academic benefits, to develop self-esteem and to enhance positive community identity.
