CANCELLED: Art of the Script: Info Session & Script Read- Free and Open to the Public!
In an abundance of caution surrounding COVID-19, we will be rescheduling this Info Session at the Arts Council of Princeton. We thank all those who were interested in joining us and encourage you to keep an eye on our calendar for the rescheduled date. Thank you!
Last year the Arts Council of Princeton and McCarter Theatre Center embarked upon a unique collaborative project, called “Art of the Script,” which invites local/regional visual artists to create works inspired by the playwrights’ art to be produced on the McCarter stage—the generated work is exhibited in McCarter’s lobbies during the run of the play for the viewing pleasure of the audience and for items listed as available for sale.
Come speak with artists who have already participated in the project to learn about their individual processes and experiences. Take part in an open reading of a short play and engage in its dramatic analysis facilitated by a member of the McCarter Artistic staff. Then share out any personal resonance you may have with the play before turning your own experience of the script into a quick creative artwork from media supplied by Arts Council staff. Artists interested in creating a work inspired by McCarter’s final production of the season—The Refuge Plays by Nathan Alan Davis—can pick up a script as well.
All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
This event will take place in Arts Council of Princeton’s Taplin Gallery (on the first floor) at 102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ.
No RSVP or ticket is required to attend this event; it is free and open to the public.
This is an Arts Council of Princeton and McCarter Theatre Center community partnership event.
