Felted Sculpture: GFS

- $90

ONE SPACE LEFT! TO REGISTER, EMAIL US AT OSEURAL@ARTSCOUNCILOFPRINCETON.ORG.
What is the process of felting a sculpture? A rectangular piece of plastic is enclosed in many layers of wool. After wetting it with warm, soapy water, it is massaged and rubbed for 15-20 minutes on both sides to entangle the fibers. Plastic is then removed so these soft felted pieces can shrink through even more vigorous agitation. By choosing a different location to cut into the felt, participants will determine the sculptural outcome of their particular finished 3D artwork. Explore how felt can be shaped – almost like clay – into visually intriguing fiber art.
Registration is exclusively through the Arts Council of Princeton. Visit classes at artscouncilofprinceton.org or call (609) 924-8777
Membership rate applies to current members of either organization..
Additional $20 materials fee payable to instructor for 4 pieces (additional pieces available at $5 unit cost). Please bring 3 dozen small (3/4 inch) binder clips, about 20 plastic shopping bags (recycled is fine) and 2 old towels to the workshop.
