Woodblock Printing W/S- $120
This one-day intensive workshop, targeted towards beginners and experienced artists, will hone skills of those who have experience and introduce skills to those who are new to woodcut. Through collaborative interaction, participants will experiment with various carving tools, as well as mark-making and printing techniques. The latest in carving tools, transfer techniques, types of blocks and inks will be covered. Each student will come away with a finished print made by the entire group on kozo – a beautiful Japanese paper derived from the mulberry tree.
A materials fee of $15 (payable to the instructor) will cover use of all materials including inks, inking and pressing tools, carving tools, Japanese paper, wood or linoleum blocks.
