DESCRIPTION:The choir you didn’t know you needed.\nPop-Up Choir Princeton is an all-ages community singing experience where families\, neighbors\, and music-lovers come together to sing pop songs in harmony — no auditions\, no pressure\, just joy. \n\nKids and parents sing side-by-side\nAdults who “used to sing” feel safe to try again\nFirst-time singers get to experience the magic of choir\n\nSing shortened versions of well-loved pop songs arranged with easy-to-follow harmonies. \nRather than being divided by age or gender\, singers choose the range that feels best for their voice: Low\, Middle\, or High. \nFamilies sit together and work as a team — either choosing to all sing the same part or challenge each other to sing in harmony. \nThere will also be moments where singers can volunteer to sing a short line of the melody on their own. If you feel inspired\, just raise your hand when prompted and you can try the melody while the choir supports you. \nA screen-free singing experience:\nPop-Up Choir Princeton is intentionally phone-free and screen-free. Instead of staring at iPads or projectors\, everyone receives a simple lyric sheet and learns the music together by ear and by voice — the way humans have always sung. DESCRIPTION:In honor of Princeton Porchfest\, we’re thrilled to take our monthly Story & Verse show outdoors to Hinds Plaza\, joining in on the community fun and gathering together an enthusiastic audience for the literary + performing arts.\nWhether you’re a seasoned writer or a first-time performer\, Story & Verse offers a warm and welcoming platform to express yourself and engage with a diverse audience of creatives\, casual appreciators\, and everyone in between.\n \nJoin us as a performer: \n\nPrepare a story\, poem\, or spoken word piece up to 5 minutes in length and (at least loosely) related to the theme. This month’s theme is open!\nArrive by 11:45am to add your name to the hat. No previous experience or pre-registration necessary.\n\nJoin our audience: \n\nFind a seat or stand on Hinds Plaza and enjoy the performances. We kick off shortly after 12pm.\n\nQuestions? Shoot us an email. \n \nAbout our host:  \nBrass Rabbit is an artist\, contemporary curator\, and arts administrator based in Trenton\, New Jersey. Rabbit has been creating and hosting poetry\, spoken word\, and storytelling events in the tri-state area for over a decade. As a performer\, the art of storytelling holds a very special place in her heart\, but listening to and supporting others is where she feels most at home. \nHosting the Story & Verse Open Mic at the Arts Council of Princeton could be called a dream job\, but for Rabbit\, the position completely lacks any “work-like” qualities and is more of an outstanding experience she looks forward to each month. Previously\, Rabbit has hosted the Levitt Amp Music Series\, Voice to Ear Festival\, Word on Front Poetry Festival\, independent poetry and storytelling open mics\, and even curated an art exhibition celebrating the art of poetry.

Sentences\ncan spill across dozens of lines\nwithout losing their grammatical\ncoherence or sense of trajectory.”  – ERIC MCHENRY\,\nColumbia Magazine		\n																												 \nPoet and Princeton resident Keith O’Shaughnessy will present a reading from his latest work\, Petrushka. An audience Q&A and signing will follow. \nSet in a quasi-Russian dreamscape\, the blackly comic\, darkly beautiful poems and fables contained in this vast volume chronicle\, in an elaborate symphonic arrangement of recurring themes and motifs\, the miscellaneous travails of several interacting characters—ballerina\, chess master\, opera tenor\, cabaret chanteuse (if not\, too\, the odd street urchin\, idiot\, or organ grinder)—all under the vigilant glare of the gleefully belligerent\, aggressively indecorous Petrushka puppet thwacking away savagely at his various adversaries with his signature slapstick. By turns elegant\, satirical\, and absurd\, the collection\, like its namesake\, revels throughout in the perverse and grotesque\, yet always with mischievous wit and rhetorical invention. \nIn 2011 Keith O’Shaughnessy’s first book of poems\, Incommunicado\, won the inaugural Grolier Discovery Award\, sponsored by the legendary Cambridge bookshop of the same name. His second\, Last Call for Ganymede\, followed in 2014 from Ilora Press. At long last\, his magnum opus\, Petrushka\, was released by Ragged Sky Press in March of 2026. Along the way he also authored three chapbooks—Carnaval\, The Devil’s Party\, and Snegurochka—all with Pudding House Publications. This alt-rock music festival is completely musician-run and highlights fresh\, emerging talent with over three hours of live music celebrating our vibrant music scene.​ \nFour on the Floor Fest partners with the Arts Council of Princeton. All proceeds support ACP’s programs\, events\, and public art. We believe art should be for everyone—and your support makes that possible. Since the festival’s inception\, Four on the Floor Fest has raised over $2\,000 towards funding arts programs\, exhibitions\, art supplies\, and events. \n2026 lineup and tickets to be announced.
