DESCRIPTION:Join the Arts Council for a community celebration in honor of Paul Robeson’s 128th Birthday. Presented in partnership with The Paul Robeson House of Princeton and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity\, the celebration will bring together art\, history\, and community reflection to honor the enduring legacy of Robeson\, one of the most influential cultural and political figures of the 20th century. Born in Princeton in 1898\, Robeson achieved international acclaim not only for his artistic accomplishments\, but also for his unwavering commitment to civil rights and social justice.  The program will feature remarks and artistic tributes highlighting Robeson’s impact on the arts\, activism\, and the Princeton community. Reverend Gregory Smith and ACP Executive Director Adam Welch will be on site offering their books for purchase and signing. Through their respective works\, both authors explore themes of history\, identity\, and social justice that resonate deeply with Robeson’s enduring legacy. Attendees will also gather for a ceremonial wreath-laying at the Robeson bust outside our building.This event is free and open to all ages.
