
14 Apr Education and Outreach Assistant
The Arts Council of Princeton’s Education and Outreach Assistant is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The Education and Outreach Assistant reports to the Education Manager and is responsible for coordination and oversight of the education and outreach program as directed by the Education Manager.
Regular Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 11-7pm, Saturdays 8:30-4:30pm. Other exceptions may occur on occasion.
Summer Hours [June 23-September 1]:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: $36,500
Preferred Experience:
An interest in Art Education
Experience working with children
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Adobe Photoshop, database
management,
Detail oriented, team player, ability to work well under pressure
Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Experience working in the arts field or nonprofit arts organization (preferred)
JOB responsibilities:
Front of House: greet the public, check in students, answer the phone, and field inquiries about the organization and its programs;
Assist the Education Manager in developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing class and workshop programs;
Prepare class descriptions and documentation for programs to be posted on the ACP website
Track community outreach programs including Arts Exchange, smART Kids, Princeton Nursery School, Creative Aging, Art for Caregivers, and all Arts in Healthcare Programs, including instructors, and report back to Education Manager
Supervising volunteers and interns working in outreach program areas;
Provide clerical support for class enrollment; customer service for class registration and
other programs as needed;
Correspondence with parents/students when needed
Registrations – paper, phone and change requests, answering emails, and inputting registration information into Art Center Canvas
Manage funding for Adapted Arts class
Manage Scholarships
Assisting with class & camp sign in and dismissal, and lunchtime, snack & break supervision of children
Order and maintain supplies for education and programming
Set up and tidy studios
Assist with the preparation of marketing and press materials for use in brochures, press releases, on website and for other publicity efforts, in cooperation with ACP staff;
Supervision of camps
As outlined above, there will be occasions where you will be asked to work outside the
days and times outlined above to provide program supervision on nights and weekends
for special events, programs or festivals as needed by Education Manager;
Provide general staffing assistance for events and programs as assigned.
Responsible for opening and closing facility as needed, including evenings and weekends;
Additional duties as assigned by the Education Manager
