SUMMARY:Princeton Community Chili Cook-Off 2026
DESCRIPTION:Princeton is chock-full of talented home cooks and impressive professional chefs. The fan-favorite annual Community Chili Cook-Off\, hosted by the Arts Council and the Historical Society of Princeton\, puts their skills to the test. Join us at the beautiful Updike Farmstead on Quaker Road for a good old-fashioned cook-off. Our contestants will serve up tasty samples all afternoon — try them all and cast a vote for your favorite. At 2:30pm\, we’ll present the coveted awards. Make a day of it: there will be 15 different chilis to try\, but you’re invited to round out your lunch with a picnic (no alcohol\, please!) Treat yourself to our lemonade stand or a deliciously crisp brew from Triumph Brewery\, with a portion of proceeds benefiting ACP + HSP. A live bluegrass band and lawn games will complete this festive fall day on the farm. So\, who will be named Princeton Chili Champion?! You’ll be the judge of that. 								\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n CONTESTANT REGISTRATION \n \n \n \n \n Are you famous among your crew for the best chili recipe? It’s time to make it official!  Registration is first-come\, first served. \n \n \n \n \n amateur registration\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Restaurants\, caterers\, private chefs\, or pros of any kind — the next button is for you! Past participants include Winberies\, Mediterra Restaurant & Taverna\, Yankee Doodle Tap Room\, Jammin’ Crepes\, and more. Registration is first-come\, first served. \n \n \n \n \n pro registration\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n TICKETS \n \n Friends\, this event sells out! We hate turning folks away\, so please purchase your ticket in advance to ensure you’re in on the fun. It is likely that no door sales will be available. \n \n \n \n attendee tickets\n \n \n \n \n Take a look at last year’s photo album! \n \n\n \n FAQ \n \n \n \n \n How do I get there and where can I park? \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n The address of Updike Farmstead is 354 Quaker Road\, Princeton\, NJ 08540. We’re just minutes from downtown Princeton! Upon arriving to the Farmstead\, you will see volunteers guiding you to available parking. Proceed then to the entrance of a barn — you’ll see ACP + HSP staff at the check in table. Pro-tip for locals: avoid parking all together and take advantage of bike paths along the canal towpath. \n \n \n \n \n What do I need to know to participate as a contestant? \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n If you’ve been waiting for a chance to show off your chili recipe\, registration is now open on a first-come\, first-served basis.  You should register under the Amateur category if you are a home cook. If you’re representing a business of any kind — restaurant\, caterer\, private chef — please use the Pro registration.  Only one entry per person\, group\, or restaurant is permitted. All ingredients must be pre-cooked before the event. Chili is to be brought ready to eat and reheated on-site. Chili must be presented in a sanitary crock-pot or similar pot and served at a temperature of 180 degrees. All subject to inspection by Princeton Health Department. Each contestant will have access to ONE outlet\, no exceptions. Each contestant must prepare a minimum of 200 2oz samples of chili.  Chili tasting cups\, spoons\, and napkins will be provided. Contestants are required to provide ingredients\, garnishes\, and kitchen tools\, including serving utensils. Contestants must be at their tasting table for the event’s duration to serve attendees. Participants receive one “plus one” to assist with set-up and serving and all other family and friends must buy a ticket. This is a fundraiser for TWO neighborhood non-profits — invite everyone ya know! Our last two events were sold out\, so advise them not to wait too long to snag their tix as it’s likely none will be available at the door. \n \n \n \n \n What should I bring as an attendee? \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n While you don’t need to bring anything\, you may choose to make the most of the day by bringing along picnic blankets or lawn chairs for your comfort. You may bring additional snacks to enjoy alongside your chili\, but please refrain from any alcoholic beverages. Triumph beer and lemonade will be available for sale. Water will be available to fill your reusable bottles. We welcome you to bring along lawn chairs and/or picnic blankets for your comfort while you enjoy the music. Pack your family’s favorite card game or a book — enjoy the day how you please. \n \n \n \n \n Do I need a ticket? \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n YES! Every attendee must be registered and check in with staff at the door. You do not need to bring a physical ticket — your name will be on the list at the door.  Kindly note that this event has sold out in prior years. While we know (and love!) that our cheftestants roll with a fan club\,  family members and friends all need tickets to enter the event.  								\n \n \n \n \n \n I have more questions! \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n We have more answers!! Just shoot us an email 🙂 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THANK YOU TO OUR EVENT SPONSOR
