Swingadelic

Swingadelic is powerhouse of a “little big band” plays a rich amalgam of jazz, blues and New Orleans styles and presents it in a vocal/instrumental “pops” format. The band maintains a weekly residency at the dinner/dance nightclub Swing 46 in NYC and has performed from Maine to Atlanta, including Lincoln Center and NJPAC.

Silk Dyeing & Surface Design

Explore your own creativity through the medium of textile design, dyeing, and surface layering with a Master Silk Artist during this full-day workshop. If you have worked with textiles before or not, this creativity explosion will lead you through understanding and following your own muse and talent as you use fiber reactive dyes, acid dyes, discharges, fabric paints and metallics, and a slew of design techniques from Japanese Shibori to monoprinting to create complex, deeply expressive fiberworks. Color, layers, luminosity, and texture are your tools. The experience of your own powerful creative expression, plus new skills and your self-made ideabook will you guide you through a lifetime of dynamic creating. If you have ever wanted to see what you are capable of, without the limitations many art forms impose, this class is for you! No previous experience required, but helpful. Fun, exciting workshop! $35.00 materials fee (paid directly to instructor), includes 3 scarves, fabric, all tools, dyes, paints, etc. Wear old clothes and bring a lunch.

Open Drawing Workshop

-

This is a monitored, non-instructional workshop in which artists can work at their own pace in the medium of their selection (no turpentine-based oil paints, please) from a live model in short and sustained poses. Chairs and a limited number of easels are available. Students must provide their own materials. Come as often as you like throughout the year. REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED —just drop in and pay at the door ($12/$10 ACP members). View more information or register.
