Collage/Mixed Media W/S

- $120

This one day collage/mixed media workshop will be playful and informative for both the novice and experienced student. Working in abstract format, the workshop will begin with a demonstration of the use of collage materials, glues, and glazes. Layering and adding acrylic paints to the paper will add more dimensions. We will stay aware of texture, tone, line, and color. Critiques of works will be ongoing during different stages of progress. Students will bring at least one piece to completion by the end of the workshop.
Bring as many kinds of old and new papers as you can find and Mod Podge glue. Also bring 2 or 3 canvas boards or mixed media paper to use for a background. Bring some acrylic paints and brushes and any other media that interests you.
[Snow date: Wed 1/28]

Monotype Printing W/S

- $120

Expressive Mark Making with Viscosity Monotype Printmaking!
Students in this 1-day workshop will expand artistic vocabulary through expressive mark-making and viscosity printing on an etching press. Viscosity printmaking is a method used in printing opaque and translucent colors within a single print. Printmakers use this technique to develop complex layers of color. The process is immediate and simple. Students will achieve surprising results while using the rich color choices available in the Akua Kolor line of Professional Printmaking Inks. These inks are environmentally friendly. Printmakers will come away with beautiful, colorful one-of-a-kind contemporary prints. Cost for supplies is $20 and is paid directly to the instructor.
