Cabernet Cabaret – Defying Gravity: Songs of Journeys & Transformation

- $18 ACP Members, Students, Seniors; $20 General Audience

The Arts Council of Princeton presents the sixth annual Cabernet Cabaret, a cabernet-infused performance in the most romantic month of the year. Join Sarah Donner and special guests Mark Applegate, Matthew Campbell, and Rebecca Mullaney for a night of live music filled with drama, romance and comedy.

Please join us at 7pm for a tapas reception by Mediterra Restaurant and Taverna. The Cabernet Cabaret performance begins at 8pm.

My life has taken quite a few turns this year. I left my teeny Princeton apartment where I had been for fifteen years and moved back to my hometown of New Bedford, Massachusetts. I bought my first house. I had to start a lot of things over again, and it seemed natural to reflect on that musically this year. All great musicals are stories of journeys great and small, and it’s easy to find songs that speak to my heart. I’ve left a lot of friends in NJ, but I’m also building new relationships in a city where I left my heart long ago. I am so glad to revisit with some of those friends at this show and make music with them! This year’s Cabernet Cabaret includes selections from Wicked, The Lion King, Anastasia, Ordinary Days, and Dear Evan Hansen.
– Sarah Donner

Tickets to Cabernet Cabaret include a tapas reception, one drink ticket and the performance. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.

Sarah Donner is a singer/songwriter recently relocated back to her hometown of New Bedford MA. She was a graduate of Westminster Choir College where she caused shenanigans by belting and writing songs about her gay boyfriends. Sarah Donner performed with College Light Opera Company, Princeton Players, Westminster Players, and various regional theaters in the Northeast. Her favoriteroles include The Secret Garden (Martha), Godspell (Sonia), Titanic (Kate Mullins), and of course five years of Cabernet Cabaret (Sarah)!

Sarah Donner now spends most of her days locked in a kitten cam room with fuzzy nuggets while she writes and performs. You can support her habit at for $1/month. That’s way less than a cup of Small World Coffee. Wow! Special thanks to Rebecca, Matthew, and Mark for continuing on this journey, and the ACP for giving me my annual fix of showtunes and wine!

Cabernet Cabaret is made possible by Mediterra Restaurant and Taverna, The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and Discover Jersey Arts.
