In exchange, we are pleased to offer volunteers $5 of ACP Bucks for each hour of your time. ACP Bucks can be applied toward membership and classes (once an enrollment threshold has been met).  Please note that volunteering done for school or community service credit is not eligible for ACP Bucks. ACP Bucks are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Please note that ACP Bucks cannot be applied material fees or model fees.

Once you’ve submitted an application, you will be placed on our email distribution list. You will receive an email about opportunities as they arise. If you see anything you are interested in, let us know! No need to reply at all if nothing grabs your attention. Our needs are varied, so chances are you will see something appealing the next time. Please note that the minimum age for volunteering is 14 years old.

  • Many of our events, classes and performances involve the stewardship of children. It is therefore our policy to do a background check on every volunteer over the age of 18 who will be working with children. By completing and submitting this form, you are consenting to a background check. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian email their consent to info@artscouncilofprinceton.org with the following subject line: “Volunteer Consent for [child’s name]”

 

ArtsExchange
An art class for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Two to three volunteers needed on a weekly basis.
Dates: Every Thursday night
Hours: 6:30-8:30pm
Tasks: Assist with art class (no artistic experience needed), homework help and set, serving and pack down of refreshments.
A perfect opportunity for someone who wants a regular commitment which leads to closer relationships with the children who attend each week.

Dance, Princeton, Dance
Community Dance Parties
Family-friendly events! Two volunteers needed at each party.
Dates: November 8, December 13, January 10, February 14
Hours: 6:30PM – 10:30PM
Tasks: Assist with the setup and break-down of the dance party and manage the refreshments and snack tables.
A perfect opportunity for a family or a volunteer with children. Bring your kids! This dance party is widely attended by families in town, and a great way to wind down at the end of the week

Gallery/Studio Painting
We’re looking for experienced painters to help up refresh our spaces!
Dates: January 11 and/or 18 – you choose!
Hours: 10AM to 2.30PM
Openings for at least 5 volunteers

Flyering Crew
Help us get the word out!
Dates: Once a week 
Tasks:
Stop by the Arts Council to pick up flyers for upcoming events to distribute around town
A committed, reliable individual can make your their own schedule.

Classroom Assistant
Assist with classes on weeknights or Saturdays.
Dates: Year-round
Tasks: Assist teachers in classrooms with young children, roll up sleeves and pour paint, re-stock supplies as needed

Communiversity ArtsFest
Volunteers are vital to the success of Communiversity, held each year at the end of April. Attendance at an orientation session is mandatory. Jobs range from spinning cotton candy to passing out programs to helping with art projects. Learn more!
