March 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

EVERY MONTH.
ALL AGES.
ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS.
ALL BACKGROUNDS.

Share your story, your poetry, or your prose. This month’s even is an Open Theme Night, so bring any piece – up to five minutes – that you’ve been working on!

Story & Verse provides a warm and welcoming spotlight for both emerging and established artists in our Solley Theater, an intimate space in the heart of Downtown Princeton.

JOIN US AS A PERFORMER:

  • Prepare a story, poem, or spoken word piece up to 5 minutes in length and (at least loosely) related to the theme.
  • Arrive by 6:45pm to add your name to the hat. No previous experience or pre-registration necessary.
  • Optional: we will record your piece and upload to the Arts Council’s YouTube channel and social media platforms.

JOIN US IN THE AUDIENCE:

  • Take the elevator or stairs to the Solley Theater, located on the top floor of our Paul Robeson Center for the Arts.
  • Optional: participate from your seat with a Micro StoryRead the printed prompt based on the evening’s theme and respond with a super concise story (just a line or two!) that answers the question. Brass Rabbit will read your story at the mic, as time allows.
  • Find a seat and enjoy the performances. We kick off shortly after 7pm.

Musical Minds: 9 mo – 2 years

May 25 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

Caretaker and child class to introduce music in a fun and engaging atmosphere. We do this through sing-alongs, light musical theory instruction, dance, and games.

Music helps behavioral and emotional health, literacy and children do better overall in school. While there are many benefits for learning music young, it’s also a fun and exciting activity that parent/caregiver and child can enjoy together!

Students 9 months – 2 years and their caretakers will experience lively sing-alongs, a gentle introduction to musical theory, have fun dance sessions, and learn through interactive games. This is a great way for caretakers to bond, socialize with other parents and introduce music to their little ones!

This half-hour session is held in partnership with Stibol Music and is recommended for toddlers of 9 mo – 2 years. Please note there is a session for children 3-5 years of age immediately following.

Register in advance for 6-class course: $120
Drop-in and pay in-person: $25
