LEON RAINBOW
@ PALMER SQUARE
35 PALMER SQUARE W

Leon Rainbow‘s artwork is a fusion of life and imagination. I take graffiti and morph it with fine art ,combine it with an underlying message. This allows me to reach a wide variety of people. The image relates more to youth, the message to adults. My design pulls them together bringing them to the middle ground to which they relate.

I am about my message. My art is my voice, my protest , agreement, whisper, shout, and cry. “To see my artwork is to see me to understand my artwork is to think about the message it conveys. This is my life”..

Life and Culture

Veronica Olivares-Weber is a Mexican artist and a faculty member of the Arts Council of Princeton. The design of her painting was inspired by her Mexican heritage, culture, and traditions.  Her side of the piano, completed in collaboration with husband Oscar, represents a Day of the Dead altar. On the front of the piano, she painted Papel Picado to represent the wind, the blue colors represents water, the 3D sugar skulls represent the people who have passed away, and the flowers represent of the Ofrendas.  Follow Veronica on Instagram at @veronica_ow.

Oscar Torres-Reyna is the Head of the Economic Department of Statistical Services (ESS) at Princeton University and a natural born artist. The title of his side of the piano is  “The Illusion of Being”. The face represents Itzamná, the Mayan god of creativity, knowledge, and happiness. The Back as a whole explores the dialectic nature of life in a society that craves happiness and innovation, yet ends up being imprisoned by its own creations. The theme for the sides of the piano is “Life As We Know It”.  Facing the piano on the left side: “Everything is alright until is not”. Facing the piano on the right side: “Nothing makes sense until it does”.
