We’ve been talking a lot about smART kids recently, and it’s obvious why: these students are amazing.

smART kids is our outreach program that has provided over 100 afternoons of hands-on art making, homework help, and healthy snacks to middle schoolers in our community. We’ve been diving into the world of printmaking with instructor Liz Massa and get a load of these unique approaches to inking their plates!

smART kids won’t solve the issues any of these students might be facing, like food or housing insecurities. But it does offer a safe and nurturing space for them to explore new and productive forms of self-expression alongside their peers. It also provides parents with some breathing room during the week to work and catch up, secure in the knowledge that their child is well cared for.
