Join Miles Franklin, a Vintage Consultant at H1912 Jewelers in Princeton, for an interactive seminar in which jewelry as a form of art will be interrogated. In addition to framing jewelry within the context of art and art history, Miles will discuss the major periods of jewelry, talk about current points of interest including “investment collecting”, and give advice on how to identify quality jewelry and how to start a varied and well-rounded collection of your own. Making extensive use of Marjan Unger’s “Jewellery in Context”, Miles will introduce novel ways of thinking about the 100,000+ year history of the jewel.
