The paintings in the series As Above, So Below play with movement against stasis, symmetry against asymmetry, and density against expansiveness, in confined organic spaces that reference cosmology, typography, cartography, calligraphy, textile design, and illuminated manuscripts. They also exhibit variations within a restricted format and are sequential in form and feeling.
