Lungs is a raw, riveting play exploring love, climate anxiety, and the choices we face.
About the show
Lungs by Duncan Macmillan is a raw, riveting, and deeply human drama that explores the complexities of modern love, climate anxiety, and the impossible choices we face when trying to build a life in a world that’s ready to burn.
We follow a young couple as they grapple with the decision to have a child — a decision that tears through their boundaries on morality, ethics, fear, desire, and hope.
With its minimalist style and emotional intensity, Lungs speaks directly to all of us overwhelmed by the uncertainty of our futures, fueled by a cycle of never-ending crisis, told through the intimacy of a couple’s most vulnerable and intimate moments.

Who Is Chimera
Chimera Productions is a fiercely independent, New Jersey‑based theatre company founded by longtime collaborators Jeffrey Alan Davis (high school drama teacher) and Drew Griffiths (playwright/actor/author). Since launching in 2019, Chimera has produced a rich variety of thought‑provoking plays—ranging from contemporary dramas to political parables—at the intimate Paul Robeson Center’s 60‑seat space in Princeton
Why it Matters
Chimera is a champion of bold, independent theater with an original voice. – We listen to the heartbeat of contemporary issues and bring them to life with minimal staging and maximum emotional impact, but remain committed to keeping what we do accessible. This fundraising helps keep our ticket costs attainable for all communities while offering a stage to emerging actors and playwrights who might otherwise not find a home for their daring, meaningful works.
