Throughout our lives we play sports or take a walk — simply to enjoy. Give an adult a piece of paper and paint, they say, “I can’t; I’m not an artist.” We often miss the point. Creative play is as important to the soul as taking a stroll in nature yet for some reason art scares those who are novices. What I share with participants is that play is vital to our very being — it nourishes the soul and aids our emotional health. It offers us an opportunity to explore an issue, provides a respite in our days and simply put, frees us from the hubbub of daily life. It gives us time to enjoy something new and work with our hands. Our minds experience “creative flow.”
In this class, led by healing art instructor/artist Jane Zamost, participants will delve into their psyche crafting what makes them special? Is it your kindness? The way you think? The color of your eyes? You will walk away from this experience feeling proud, confident, and unique.
