Day of the Dead Community Celebration

Celebrating El Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, has been an Arts Council tradition for over 20 years! 

Observed in Mexico and throughout the world in early November, the holiday is a time for family and friends to remember loved ones who have passed. Traditions include parades and the construction of private altars using sugar skulls, marigolds, and favorite foods in memory of those we’ve lost. 

In Partnership with Triumph, we invite you to learn about this culturally rich holiday by joining us for a free, family-friendly festival. We’ll create crafts inspired by traditional Mexican folk art, decorate sugar skulls, enjoy live music by a mariachi band, create a community altar, and more!

Celebracion del Día de Muertos ha sido una tradición del Arts Council por más de 20 años. 

Celebrado en México y en todo el mundo a principios de Noviembre, esta festividad es un momento para que familiares y amigos recuerden a sus seres queridos fallecidos. Las tradiciones incluyen desfiles y la construcción de altares privados con calaveritas de azúcar, cempasúchil y sus platillos favoritos en memoria de quienes hemos perdido. 

En colaboración con Triumph, los invitamos a conocer esta festividad de gran riqueza cultural a través de un festival gratuito y familiar. Crearemos artesanías inspiradas en el 

arte popular mexicano tradicional, decoraremos calaveritas de azúcar, disfrutaremos de música en vivo con mariachis, crearemos un altar comunitario y mucho más.
