Member-Artist of the Month: Jodi Hazel

Meet Jodi Hazel, local artist + ACP Member
Tell us about yourself and your art!

I’ve always been an artist. Like many creatives, I use many mediums such as watercolor, water soluble oil paints, and a pen tablet for digital painting, but my preference is acrylic paint. I paint figures with bold colors, energy, textures, and patterns. My characters are abstract figures that play on a wide range of subjects in particular uncommon beauty and expression, mythology, music, etc.

What inspires your artwork?

I find my inspiration in everyday life, trips to museums, galleries, art history, historical subjects, social media, pretty much everywhere. What motivates me these days is the need to paint. There’s nothing else I’d rather do in life.

Who are some of your favorite artists?

Some of my favorite artists would be Salvador Dali, Ernst Fuchs, Gustave Klimt, Egon Schiele, George Condo, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Stev’nn Hall, Alessandro Siciodr, Jesus Aquado, Greg Simkins, Andrew Salgado, Alex Eckman-Lawn, Rusudan Khizanishvili, and Christian Rex van Minnen.

Where can people find you?
