25 Aug A Recap of Joint Effort Witherspoon-Jackson Community Princeton Safe Streets!
Every year, we are thrilled to be able to host the Joint Effort Witherspoon-Jackson Community Princeton Safe Streets program. This year was no exception, and it was truly a special event with an exciting appearance from New Jersey Governor, Mikie Sherrill.
Safe Streets has been an annual staple in the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood for 15+ years. Founder and coordinator, John Bailey, continues to bring the community together for a series of events each summer.
“Bailey said Sherrill’s appearance on August 5 represents an important milestone for the community and reflects the growing significance of an initiative that has expanded steadily since it was launched in 2022.
It was such a meaningful evening of community and open discussion about the future of New Jersey and the neighborhood.
This year’s events also welcomed a panel which included Senator Andrew Zwicker, County Executive Dan Benson, County Commissioner Sam Frisby, former Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer, President of the African American Chamber of Commerce of NJ John Harmon, Sr., County Commissioner candidate Nakia White-Barr, and Princeton Mayor, Mark Freda.
